APEAL publishes its full position on the European Commission’s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) Proposal 12

APEAL, representing the steel for packaging sector, cautiously welcomed the general approach of  the PPWR proposal when published by the European Commission in November 2022.

The PPWR paves an exciting future for packaging and recycling in the EU but to fully close the loop, clarifications are needed in some areas, particularly on the goal of the European Green Deal and Circular Economy Action Plan (CEAP) 2.0 for all packaging on the EU market to be reusable or recyclable in an economically viable way by 2030.

In this light, APEAL  has today published its full set of recommendations and amendments that can be downloaded in the position paper here.
