International Environment Forum 2025 in Bucharest

Steve Claus, Secretary General of Steel for Packaging Europe, will join a distinguished line-up of speakers to address the challenges and opportunities brought by the new European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) at the forthcoming International Environment Forum in Bucharest, Romania.

The PPWR aims to harmonise packaging regulations across the EU, setting ambitious targets for recyclability, reuse, and recycled content but challenges remain for many EU members states .

For Romania there is still a lot to be done both in assessing the impact of previous decisions and the implementation of the existing legal framework, but also in terms of the ability of the economic sectors to adapt to the challenges brought by the new legislative changes such as PPWR.
